Choosing the right senior care option can feel like an insurmountable challenge. However, for many folks in and around Princeton, WV, the choice is clear. Princeton Health Care Center has a reputation for compassion and competence. That reputation has been painstakingly built over the course of three decades, and as we approach our fortieth anniversary we are justifiably proud of the fact that we’ve given families and their loved ones the peace of mind that comes only with the highest standard of care.
Our History
Princeton Health Care Center admitted its first resident to its 120-bed facility in June 1981. At that time, our skilled nursing facility was owned by Princeton Memorial Hospital Company, an affiliate of Princeton Community Hospital (PCH). In 1989, Princeton Health Care Center designated 60 beds to a dementia care unit. This unit was the first of its kind in West Virginia and is still the largest and longest-serving dementia care unit in the state. In 2005, Princeton Health Care Center received Medicare certification, in addition to its previous West Virginia Medicaid certification, for all beds. During 2009, Princeton Memorial Hospital Company changed its name to Princeton Memorial Company, to reduce confusion with PCH, and became directly affiliated with the City of Princeton.
